Whenever there are odd numbers of children in small groups, there is almost always a fight. Often, two will gang up on one and try to make all of the decisions or start a two player game that leaves the third child out. Intervening every time this occurs may be tempting, but it can be better to leave the children to their own devices. The child that is left out may learn how to voice his or her opinion and the other two children can learn a little about empathy.
